Cougars set for NCAA championships

The NCAA outdoor track and field championships take place Wednesday June 11 to Saturday June 14 in Eugene, Oregon, where BYU will be represented by six athletes.

Jason Witt and Chase Dalton lead the men's team's scoring chances, with Witt holding a No. 3 national ranking in the 10,000m and Dalton holding a No. 8 ranking in the decathlon. Witt and Dalton are joined by Joshua Weirich (decathlon) and Kyle Baker (javelin).

The women will be represented by senior Andrea Harrison (steeplechase) and freshman Shea Martinez (800m).

"We have six headed to Eugene excited for the opportunity to compete," said Head Coach Ed Eyestone. "We have Shea representing the future of this program to go along with our five veterans."
